December 2005: Kinetic win contract to provide minibuses for MoD
East Yorkshire-based Kinetic Special Vehicles (KSV) has been commissioned to convert six vans for the MoD into secure 15 seater minibuses. The prestigious contract is being delivered as part of Kinetic’s one-stop-shop arrangement with Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles and is being turned around within the short time frame of just six weeks to meet its client’s requirements.
This follows Kinetic’s recent announcement of its contract wins with Gloucester and Surrey Police and is further testament to the versatility and skills of the company’s workforce for providing high quality bespoke vehicles to a wide variety of organisations which require specialist vehicles.
Mark Catley, Kinetic’s Director explained: “We are pleased to be working alongside one of our partners, Vauxwagon Commercial Vehicles, to provide the MoD with the secure minibuses. Although it is not as complex as other vehicles we produce our well managed production process and the one-stop-shop arrangement has enabled us to meet the deadline placed upon us by our customer.”
The MoD visited East Yorkshire last month to see how the vehicles were progressing. A spokesperson from MoD Fleet commented: “The team at Kinetic pride themselves on the high standard of their workmanship. The minibuses arerapidly taking shape and should be ready for collection on schedule.” |
