October 2005: Kinetic Special Vehicles unveil company restructure and re-branding at this year’s NAPFM exhibition
East Yorkshire -based Kinetic Special Vehicles Ltd timed the launch of its company restructure and re-branding to coincide with this year’s NAPFM (National Association of Police Fleet Managers) conference and exhibition – the main exhibition in the company’s calendar.
Designing bespoke vehicles for police forces, prison service and other authorities which require secure and protected vehicles, Kinetic recognised the need to provide more information to its customers. In order to achieve this, Kinetic embarked on a new marketing campaign which included redesign of website, promotional literature and logo reflecting Kinetic’s increased commitment and focus to the police market – and what better time to unveil its new look than at the NAPFM show.
Mark Catley from Kinetic commented: “The NAPFM exhibition meets the needs of the police service and other emergency services, providing fleet managers with information about the new technologies and vehicles that are available. It is a great opportunity for us to showcase the vehicles that we have been working on over the past year and the perfect opportunity for us to launch our new website and marketing campaign.
“Although we specialise in a range of bespoke vehicles for a wide variety of clients we have been continuing to focus more and more on the police market. Over the past year we have worked for 26 different police forces and we wanted these customers to see our commitment to providing them with the best possible service.
Having begun its long relationship with the police forces in the early Eighties, when Kinetic was asked to produce a prototype protected personnel carrier for Humberside Police, it is not surprising that the company turned its focus to this market.
This original personnel carrier was an immediate success and Kinetic was asked to broadcast their design to police forces across the country. In 1982 the company designed and built its first fully equipped mobile police station and a year later saw the production of its first cellular prison van, using a design that was later adopted as a standard by the Home Office. They have since gone on to design over 350 specialist vehicles.
Mark Catley continued: “We would like to thank all of our friends and colleagues who took the time to come and see us at the NAPFM show. I think that this year has been our most successful to date.
“Feedback from fleet managers has been extremely positive and the interest generated by the vehicles we displayed generated a lot of interest, especially the mobile custody unit vehicle which we designed for Bedfordshire Police.
“It is an exciting time for Kinetic at the moment, having recently undertaken a company restructure with Grant Pearce and David Corton having acquired a majority shareholding in the company. The restructure means Grant will continue as the MD and David as Director whilst I have also been appointed to the board of Directors. I am looking forward to my new role within the company and Kinetic’s continued focus and dedication to the police market.” |
